Nice pictures, Monson. You might be interested in trying to figure out all the reasons you're more likely to see animals along a road than elsewhere. Examples are 1) in some regions, roads are salted in winter. 2) I saw a fox using the road to walk on so he could walk silently while looking for prey in the grass along the road.
